Shirolepa is another version of the Panchakarma therapy, and it is remarkably useful in the treatment of diseases related to the scalp and skin. Shirolepa is a unique treatment performed on the scalp, in which various herbs and medical powders are made into a paste and applied to the scalp. The scalp is then covered and tied with special kinds of leaves which interact well with the scalp.
Shirolepa helps in nourishing the scalp and the head. The most common paste that is used in the Shirolepa therapy is buttermilk and Amalika.
